Block Walk for Joe Jaworski for Mayor of Galveston on Election Day

Turnout is crucial in Joe Jaworski's race for mayor of Galveston. To help out on Election Day, this Saturday, May 8, meet up at his headquarters at 2125 Church Street in Galveston at noon. The group will grab some lunch, then go knock on doors and talk to voters. If you can come earlier, that's fine. If you prefer, you can help with phone banking.

Local Human Trafficking to Be Examined at April BAND Meeting

Modern-day slavery, also known as human trafficking, will be the focus of the BAND meeting in April.

Steven Goff, project director for Houston Rescue and Restore (HRRC), will speak at the BAND meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 14 at the Harris County Courthouse Bay Area Annex. Goff will cover what human trafficking is, how it works, who the victims are and what is being done about it in Houston.

Democratic Primary Runoff Election - April

Early voting for the Democratic Primary runoff is Monday, April 5 through Friday, April 9th. The polls will be open from 7 AM to 7 PM. You may vote in this unless you voted in another party's primary.

BAND Agrees to Updated NASA Resolution

At the March BAND meeting, members voted to recommend the following resolution for passage at the upcoming Senate District 11 convention.

Write a Resolution at Your Precinct Convention

You can play a part in assembling the Democratic platform. Here's how. The precinct conventions begin on Tuesday, March 2 after the polls close, at about 7:15 p.m. Each convention takes place at that precinct's primary polling place. You can attend the convention with your printed resolutions on the political issues of your choice, and you can also sign up to be a delegate at the Senate District convention.
