February BAND Meeting

The March 2 primary will be the focus at the next Bay Area New Democrats meeting. Guests will include Democratic candidates for judicial and other positions. Joe Jaworski, a longtime BAND favorite and a candidate for Galveston mayor, will be our featured speaker. We will also talk about what to expect when you attend the precinct conventions the night of the primary.

The board expects to present a proposed amendment to our bylaws in order to bring them up to date with current practice about club members’ annual dues. Previously, everyone’s annual dues were to be renewed in March of each year, regardless of when the members first joined the club. Under the proposed amendment, individuals’ renewal time each year will be the month they initially joined.

The meeting takes place at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb.10 at the Harris County Courthouse Bay Area Annex.
