Many people will be impacted by Legislative decisions being considered by our lawmakers will impact many people, yet they haven’t been able to connect with their representatives to discuss their concerns about health care, immigration, sanctuary cities or any other issue affecting their everyday lives. But now there’s a way.
Although BAAD Women extended an invitation to Rep. Brian Babin to speak with and hear from his constituents, he did not ever respond. Since he won’t come to us, we’ll go to him.
If you have a story to tell about how you will be affected by lawmakers’ actions in D.C., share it at the BAAD Women meeting on Thursday, Aug. 17. The meeting will be videotaped, and Sherrie Matula, BAAD Women president, will deliver it to Rep. Babin when he is in town at the end of the month. Residents of the 36th Congressional District are encouraged to participate. It’s your chance to be heard by your Congressman.
If you wish to speak, please contact Sherrie Matula at firstname.lastname@example.org to let her know you’re interested in sharing your story. Each presenter will have approximately three minutes.
In addition, you’ll also have an opportunity to meet the two Democratic candidates running to represent Congressional District 36. They have been invited to briefly talk about the issues they feel are important with a question and answer session to follow.
The meeting is at the Bay Area Community Center in Clear Lake Park, located at 5002 E. NASA Parkway (across the street from the lake) in Seabrook. It begins with light refreshments at 6:30 p.m., followed by the program at 7 p.m.
