Advocacy Groups
BAND is not only active helping to elect Democratic candidates; the club is also forming advocacy groups to focus on issues of interest to progressives. The sub-groups of BAND will meet occasionally to organize as a group, research the issues and plan advocacy events for positive change. They can also make short presentations at BAND meetings and write articles for the BAND newsletter.
Members of the BAND board of directors will serve as liaisons for each group, but the board is actively seeking members not currently on the board to chair each of these groups. Below are the board ideas for advocacy groups and the directors who volunteered to serve as liaison for each one.
If you have an idea for another advocacy group, speak up! Please contact by e-mail or speak to any board member at a BAND meeting or at a weekly lunch get-together if you think you could serve as chairperson for any of these groups. All BAND members are welcome to participate in more than one group.
