BAND Meetings:
Bay Area New Democrats (BAND) meets every 2nd Wednesday of the month at the Clear Lake County Courthouse 16603 Buccaneer in the 2nd floor court room. Our meeting begins at 7:00 PM with a guest speaker and club business following. We usually adjourn to Skeeters for a social after the meeting.
BAND Weekly Luncheon:
BAND members meet every Friday for lunch at Fuddruckers on NASA Rd. 1. All Democrats are invited! We meet at 11:45.
About BAND:
Bay Area New Democrats (BAND) was created in 1999. BAND has been an active club with activists in education, environmental protection, consumer protection, Women's rights and local issues. Our members have very active in stopping the proposed San Jacinto Rail carrying toxic chemicals through Clear Lake, the fight against Bayport, and protecting our green space in Clear Lake. In 2004 3 members of our club were delegates to the Democratic National Convention in Boston. Club members have also traveled to Austin to testify at hearings and lobby our elected officials on many different bills.
